Traffic limits per key

Each access key has its own limit per minute. Above it, Storage refuses requests with SlowDown (HTTP 503) until the next minute.

Data uploaded10 GB
Data downloaded10 GB
Write and list requests3,000
Read requests6,000

What happens at the limit

  • 10 buckets: creating a new bucket is refused. Delete a bucket or ask for more.
  • 50 GB stored: Storage becomes read-only within 1 minute. Downloads, listings and deletions keep working; uploads and new buckets are refused. Delete files to upload again or ask for more space.
  • File over 20 GB: the upload is refused before it starts.

How to ask for more

Email [email protected] with:

  • the organization name;
  • your Zenifra email;
  • what you need (more buckets or more storage) and why.

The request is reviewed and may be approved or denied.

Free allowance

Every organization has a free allowance:

  • Storage: the first 5 GB stored are always free. In every hour, up to 5 GB-hours are not charged.
  • Requests: every month, 50 thousand writes and listings and 500 thousand reads are free. The count restarts on the 1st of each month (UTC), and only what goes beyond the allowance is charged.

The Cost this month card shows how much of the allowance has been used.

How usage is measured

  • Storage: each bucket's size is measured every minute, and each byte is charged for the time it was stored. One GB-month is 1 GB stored for 720 hours. Storing 1 GB for 10 hours, for example, costs 10/720 of a GB-month.
  • Requests: only successful requests count. Refused requests, such as those from a revoked key or from a network outside the list, are not charged.
  • Deleted bucket: charged for the time it held files, until the deletion, and it keeps showing in the month's cost until the month closes.
  • Billing: usage is calculated per hour and debited from the organization's balance once a day, like the other products. See Payments.

The Cost this month card in the console shows the month-to-date total, the amount per item, each bucket's storage and how much of the free allowance has been used. The previous 12 months can be viewed once closed.

Pending payment

With pending payments, Storage becomes read-only: you can still download and delete files, but not upload new ones or create buckets. Storage is still charged. Once the payment is settled, uploads work again.

FAQ

Do the limits apply per bucket or per organization?

Buckets, storage, files and keys are counted per organization. Traffic is counted per access key.

Why are there limits during the beta?

Limits protect the platform against abuse. If your application needs more, ask through support.

Is a revoked key still charged?

No. Keys have no cost; you pay for storage and requests.
